Paraeducators are needed for the 2023-24 School Year on an as needed basis

 
Employer contribution toward health insurance & attendance bonus available to employees who do not exceed allotted leave time (regular time positions only)

Position is posted as special education paraeducator, but some positions might be general education paraeducator
 
Hourly Rate:
  • $15.25/hour (Special Education Paraeducator)
  • $15.00/hour (Regular Education Paraeducator)
 

Scope: To assist the classroom teacher while performing duties which are instructional in nature and deliver direct services to students

 

Reports to: Building Assistant Principals, Teacher(s), Special Education Director


Requirements: Communication and interpersonal skills; Working knowledge of children’s behavior; Enjoy working with students with special needs; Able to take charge in emergency situations; Ability to make decisions; Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times; Para Educator License preferred but not required

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

Work as a team member with teachers
Interact effectively and appropriately with, students, teachers and parents
Provide corrective feedback to student
Work with student in the areas of:

Assist teacher in maintaining work and study areas
Help maintain individual records for child (Progress monitoring)
Assists children individually or in small groups to help student’s master IEP
assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers
Document IEP goals as required
Alert the teachers to special needs or situations concerning students
Provide an appropriate role model for the students
Maintain confidentiality at ALL TIMES
Other duties as assigned


Term of Employment: Refer to letter of agreement; Employment based on need (IEP); Hours and number of days assigned as need requires

 

Salary and Benefits: As per negotiated agreement


Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel
