Experience in food service preferred, but training will be available.

 

Salary: $16.50/hour
 
This posting will remain active until April 30, 2027, or until all positions are filled.
 

Scope: Assists in the operations of the nutrition program, including food preparation, serving, cashiering, cleaning, and record keeping; ensures adherence to district guidelines and public health regulations.


Reports to: Nutrition Lead

Performance Responsibilities:

Terms of employment: This is a regular-time, 10-month position. Regular time employees are scheduled to work a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week during the school year. Part time employees are scheduled to work twenty-nine (29) or fewer hours per week during the school year. Employment is subject to the provisions of Board policy, state and federal law, and the terms outlined in the Food Service Department Booklet of the Employee Handbook.

 

Physical Requirements: The employee performs essential kitchen operations that require lifting and carrying items, pushing and pulling carts and equipment, performing sustained bending and reaching, and repetitive hand movements for meal preparation, dishwashing, and cleaning. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequent use of grip and pinch motions, and the ability to work in warm kitchen environments for prolonged periods. Pre-employment job-specific testing is required to ensure capability.

 

Job-Specific Physical Tasks

Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally up to 40 lbs; constantly lighter repetitive lifting

Pushing/Pulling: Maximum of 40 lbs. force

Dynamic Lifting Values: Floor to Knuckle 40 lbs.; 12” to Knuckle 40 lbs.; Push 40 lbs.; Pull 40 lbs.

Bending/Reaching: Frequent bending and reaching, including sustained postures at sink and counter level

Hand/Finger Dexterity: Frequent grip/pinch use

Repetitive Tasks: Frequent repetitive lifting of plates and food prep items

Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
