We are looking for:

• Regular time (30+ hours/week during the school year) food service workers
• Part-time food service workers
• Substitute food service workers

Experience in food service preferred, but training will be available

 

Scope: Under general supervision, assists in operations of food program, including hygiene,
meal planning, preparation, record keeping and all kitchen operations; adhering to guidelines and public health regulations

Reports to: Head Cook/Nutrition Director

Requirements: Graduate from high school or equivalent; Knowledge of production or commercial food preparation preferred, cleaning techniques and/or childhood nutrition

 

Performance Responsibilities:

• Prepare nutritious meals according to state and federal guidelines
• Prepare substitute items for children on restricted diets
• Ability to bake breads, rolls, desserts and use commercial equipment
• Maintain highest standards of safety and sanitation including but not limited to; practicing safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage
• Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen, including but not limited to freezers, coolers, pantries, floors and storage areas; washing all items used for food preparation
• Dishwashing duties as assigned
• Accurate recordkeeping of production sheets and food temperatures
• Ability to run cash stand and scan cards
• Basic clerical skills and computer skills
• Ability to handle emergency situations
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and maximum lifting of 50 pounds
• Physical capabilities of bending, standing and walking for prolonged periods and/or much of the work day
• Entails the consistent use of hand and feet controls with operation of food service equipment
• Capable of working in warm temperature surroundings
• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with staff, students, vendors and other food agencies
• Completes all other duties as assigned
